Advice and answers from the StackAdapt Team

Step 1 - Create a retargeting pixel

Head to the Retargeting tab and click on Add a New Tracker. Input the pixel name, description, expiry time and click Save.

Step 2 – Include the retargeting pixel on target landing pages

Your Retargeting pixel will appear in the list. Next, click on Show Instructions. A box will appear with your Retargeting Pixel, please include it on your target landing pages. The Retargeting Pixel will collect a “bucket of visitors”.

The JavaScript-based option allows for greater intelligence within the platform, and makes more meaningful connections between users and the pages they visit. Alternatively, you may include a traditional Image-based pixel.

Step 3 – Keep track of retargeting pixel

Every time a user visits the target landing pages, the pixel fires. You can keep track of the number of fires in the Retargeting tab. Once you are satisfied with the # of Fires, it is time to run a Retargeting Campaign.

Note: The recommended number of retargeting pixel fires is 1000+

Step 4 – Create your retargeting campaign

To create a retargeting campaign, please follow the new campaign creation instructions. When you get to the Advanced section in the Options tab, select the Retargeting Segments to apply to the campaign.

Note: Only users that have visited the page with the retargeting pixel, will be targeted in this campaign.
